PROGRAMS

BROSDI has three main programs: -

  1. Agricultural program - Aims at improving rural farmers’ livelihoods through enabling food security by engaging government, private sector, and civil society in knowledge sharing and information management of agricultural local content using ICT. This we do through enabling farmers develop local content for agricultural digital dissemination as well as create new opportunities, identify community knowledge brokers, and routine knowledge sharing and dissemination of information ... see project website, audio blog and text blog.

  2. Health program - Aims at creating awareness on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues among the rural communities with particular focus on the youth. This we do through enabling access to information through open group discussions and a blog where youth can ask questions and receive answers related to their sexual and reproductive health rights so as to enable them make positive choices regarding their own sexuality, reproduction and behavioral change.

  3. Education program - Aims at building self esteem and confidence among rural children especially the orphan child for improved behavior change and academic grades. See online platform where they express themselves. Some more projects include: -

    Practice Makes Perfect (PMP) - candidate class primary children are exposed to examination papers from especially urban schools to contribute to their body of knowledge.

    Holiday Camps (HC) – children get together once every term, during school holidays, to learn more about the Busoga Culture, get computer skills, address behavioral change and more.

    Tylers Education Fund (TEF) – selected orphan children receive school requirements termly.

    Agricultural Node – secondary and primary school orphan children are enabled to combine agricultural activities alongside improving academic grades.
